One of the cable channels (Discovery?) did a show on an artificial island shaped like a palm tree they are building off the coast of Dubai. They spent an hour detailing what an engineering miracle the project was and how much it cost. Sold out all the $million condos years before it was done.

Then after leaving you limp from all they went through to put that thing up they tell you that now on the drawing boards is another island TWICE as big, and yet another THREE TIMES as big. Plus they have unbelievable plans to build canals in the desert for yet another vast building site.

It is awesome to contemplate the colossal sums of money those folks have to play with.
