I've made up my mind it will be stagflation. All the signs point to it. Copper, gold and strengthening stock market's worldwide this year confirms it. Had my doubts for a couple of years as apparently you did as well.. What could derail it? A rapid backup in longterm rates or stupid gov't policies that quicken the housing downturn and turn it into an outright collapse. As Bush seems on course for borrowing, continuing wars and taxes cuts we can't afford and allowing Congress to spend like a drunken sailor I doubt that happens. I also doubt China or Japan just dumps treasuries in rapid fashion as they need the US consumer in the game even more than we need them manufacturing stuff dirt cheap..
