The judicial murder of a Christian convert by a government that exists only on the basis of American power and good will, however, would be intolerable.

I don't believe this is the way the Afghani people think of their government, and I don't think it's wise to suggest that they should.

Bush argues that we are establishing democracy, which is self rule.

I tried to bring up the vicissitudes of democracy years ago -- that voting in fascism is actually not at all uncommon.

And that, for Muslims, it's practically a given that they will vote in Sharia law.
