yah I'm bitter but mostly because I'm pissed that the market has been so bad for so long. For a great stock market you need optimism, it manifests itself everywhere, then companies staff up , they add "infrastructure" etc.

Watching these clowns dismantle US engineering left me with a bad, very bad feeling in 2001. at that time (2001) I think most felt we would get our bull market back. Instead, we have a lingering bear market, and this has gone on for years.

I posted on the Google thread that Bill Gates, who afaik is still the chief architect of MSFT, has priority #1 as getting more visas from the US govt. Sound like it should be msft's #1 priority to you? Doesn't seem like foreign visas should be msft's #1 priority to me. How about msft stops with the inflammatory rhetoric towards US engineering, gives people some raises and actually RAISES the quality of life for engineering talent in the US. then maybe the best engineers would go back to engineering. In my day I was a great engineer, but I would never consider that profession now, no way. That is the key problem.
