Elise is 2.5 yo..I guess I don't have to tell you how, ahem, challenging this age is when they're sick..ouch..hardest of them all, in my experience..they don't understand why you want them to hold still for an abdominal exam..screachhhhh!, 'get away!'..spit!, kick!..forget about the IV: like they're really going to believe that inflicting pain/violating their body is for their higher good..
Sounds like Elise didn't have to undergo the full workup..thank God.
Now I know I'm behind..Zofran?..we didn't do that for a kiddo her age in my day..God bless these medicines..I have a stash of Jeff's Kytril[yup, 4 years past expiration label and they work fine]..relief in less than 10 minutes..Zofran is going generic from what I've heard or maybe it's the IV formulation..no good way to deal except one child at a time like Rick's charity folk in Zimbabwe..when relatives go to Albania, I load them up with what I can get my hands on..
The dog was going nuts this a.m...first sunny morning in several days..his 'play group' friend was due today and I risked missing her..he'd come over, look at me with the:"don't you wanna go outside?" look, then go lay down while exhaling a sigh of frustration..he couldn't run out fast enuff when she arrived..now, that would be an interesting project..
