The Citigroup numbers are something else. Projected revenue of $5.3B for this year, an annualized number lower than Q405 sales. So they are basically saying, all the growth in the industry will be accruing to Intel for the full year. No market share expansion from Q4 levels, no ASP improvements, no nothing. What are they thinking?

Then in a market they expect to grow due to Vista announcement in '07, AMD manages to grow at less than market rate ($5.3B to $5.6B).

I am telling you right now, the market is growing a lot faster than they are expecting. Also, consumer and SMB is driving it, exactly backwards of what they are thinking.

Slightly off this topic, I have not figured out the Dell motivation on the Alienware purchase. They never buy anything. My only two thoughts are to provide the financial strength to expand Alienware's position in retail distribution and the backdoor AMD connection. Neither one is too compelling a reason in my thinking, so I continue to ponder.

Cravey.
