Slightly off this topic, I have not figured out the Dell motivation on the Alienware purchase. They never buy anything. My only two thoughts are to provide the financial strength to expand Alienware's position in retail distribution and the backdoor AMD connection. Neither one is too compelling a reason in my thinking, so I continue to ponder.

Dell financial results have fallen below expectations, their growth rate has slowed. Their conference calls have (apparently) become anything but a lovefest. My take is that Dell needs something to talk about - a diversion.
