Is AMD being cocky here?

RELIABLE SOURCES said that AMD is putting prices up on its X2 microprocessors by between two and five US dollars, depending on the stock keeping unit (SKU).

Even if Q1 is a complete blowout (which I think it will be less than that), I think AMD should remain more on a humble side. The $2 to $5 means nothing.

Ok, Intel is forced to cut prices, discount, give rebates, while AMD is not (yet), but symbolically raising prices is likely to annoy more people than find friends.

Besides, the retail situation (at least at CompUSA) has been reversed by 180 degrees, and is favoring Intel on desktop by a big ratio. Notebooks have improved somwhat though...
