BEIJING To help meet China's soaring energy demand, a Chinese group led by Huaneng Power International plans to start construction this year of the world's first commercial nuclear power plant using pebble-bed technology, which scientists say can be safer and cheaper than conventional plants.

That's AWESOME news!!

I'm a big believer in Pebble-Bed nuclear technology.

Especially if we're going to make the transition to a hydrogen economy, since we're going to need a reliable and safer means of providing the electricity to convert water into H and O2.
