America's best and brightest have no incentive to go into the sciences and engineering fields. That's hard work and you can't get filthy rich. The brightest young Americans now want to be hedge fund managers, real estate investors, investment bankers, bond traders, etc. This is a classic misallocation of resources. The sooner the credit bubble bursts, the better off our country will be. The longer it is delayed, the more disastrous the final outcome.
