They warned Bush on 8-6-01. Bush did nothing.

Bush was sent out of town for the event.
Cheney knew something was up, but he wanted an event which would act as a catalyst for his proposed invasion of Iraq. They thought the event would be a simple hijacking, so they let it happen. Instead it was 9/11.
