Then you have to accept that they were intentionally misleading the people wrt the Iraq war.

re: I see the deception but I think "slightly dishonest" covers it. However I don't think the semantic issue here is one worth arguing over. Certainly he was spinning and manipulating the words, or his speech writers where (and he either accepted it or was oblivious, the latter of which might be worse than the former)

Where exactly is your threshold of deception? How many lies will you accept? This is not a minor issue, this is an invasions and occupation and our kids dying on foregin soil. It's not US business as usual, some minor issue, this is kids dying and a $Trillion in spending.

Getting cheap straw man crap, with all that is at stake, is not what we deserve. If you can sell this on it's real merits, great than sell it. But tell them damn truth.
