You have no evidence that anyone made it up. The testimony is credible. Other evidence backs it up. The story remains viable.

Re: "So I can make up anything I want to, and if it can't be proved or disproved, then it can be repeated as though it were a fact?"

Can be repeated as though it were fact? That's silly, and nothing I would say or imply. It CAN be repeated as though it is believed, if it IS believed, and there is simply no foul in that. You ask me to "think about it." As you might realize, I'm way ahead of you there.

RE: "Really? The story remains viable though it is not proven?"

Yes, of course. Zillions of unproven allegations are often not only reasonably considered viable despite a lack of proof, but are in fact quite true. I can't imagine where your logic went when you wrote the above quoted.

Suggesting that I think there should be some "lesser standard" for deciding whether or not to go to war is very wrong of you.
