Whether the shares were sold directly by Steve, rubbed out with a magic accounting eraser, or traded for 8 Pokemon cards, the effect is the same: Jobs has 1/2 as many shares as he previously had, the IRS has a pile of cash it wanted, and there is an equivalent pile of cash missing from AAPL's coffers.
