I don't really like that, but I'd accept it, for two reasons.

1. Providing employment to an illegal is CERTAINLY providing "aid" to the illegal immigrant, and the law would make it a felony. THAT's a great thing! By structuring it this way, the law doesn't directly go after employers, which would alarm a lot of Republicans. In 2004, FOUR employers were charged with hiring illegal aliens in the ENTIRE USA.

2. Having lived in a barrio, the way that illegals get here isn't just crossing the border. Once they've crossed, there is a network here to help them get established, find a place to live, find a job, learn how to get by in America - usually family or friends from Mexico. They need to be discouraged. Currently, the consequences for these local "enablers" are ZERO.
