Philster said Intel was good here - he is buying some. He says the SOX and BKX aren't moving much though so the markets aren't going anywhere.

He said watch XLU - that is the true indicator of interest rates.

He said Newmont has a "W" formation and he likes that chart pattern a lot. That should make the gold bugs happy - hehe.

Fiber to the home is the big push by verizon in my area to steal away customers from the cable guys.

I will give you my impression on Fiber from a pure fundamental viewpoint. I am consuming great amounts of binary files from the newsgroups (porn) hehe - and lots of video from youtube and other places - streaming video from the philster - etc etc. On a wireless verizon EVDO connection and a brighthouse cable modem connection. I don't fundamentally see how 40mbps is gonna improve my net experience much. The jump from 300 baud to 56K was a fundamental shift for me. From 56K to 1.5mbps cable was less dramatic - but did change my habits somewhat - I predict the jump up to fiber is going to follow the law of diminishing returns. I can only watch one video channel at a time. Brittney can only chat to so many people in her messenger at a time - 40mbps is not necessary for her.

Wireless 500K evdo has been what has liberated me from being tied to 1 spot - in the future I don't see how FIBER is going to compete with wireless anywhere access - even if it is somewhat faster. That doesn't mean lots of companies and gubbments won't spend a ton laying fiber and running content over fiber - but I only need 1 internet connection - and the wireless is not the one I am gonna drop.
