Yes, I think that's why HB does so well, because he preaches the trender's Trinity: Fundamentals, TA and market analysis.
As for my being a newbie, it remains as true as ever. Oh, it's true that I spout all sorts of gibberish about this indicator and that indicator, and occasionally make a precocious remark (based more on inspiration than perspiration), but I know nuttin'. I'm trying desperately (but sometimes rather lazily) to learn more, but I'm skimming over the surface of things, grabbing hastily at this and that.
Favorite books right now:
"The New Technical Trader," by Chande and Kroll -- beyond the idea of VIDYA, didja ever wonder where StochRSI came from?
"Investor's Business Daily Guide to the Markets," by IBD. -- This book provides an introduction to fundamental analysis, including relative strength, float, PE, etc. It's more than a "how to" book for Investor's Business Daily, but it's that, too.
