well, enterprise software has been using SQL for a filesystem for the longest time. So it is possible to use a database as a file system. SEBL, Ariba all of those. If you have a bunch of data like a blob or flat file you don't want to index, or something you dump it in there as type "object". Otherwise it is a structured table. Seems like a completely reasonable approach to windows. After all, one huge problem with traditional FSs is that you can't look for the contents of anything, which is why every corporation went to SQL
