I just called Cox and they are offering 10mbit downstream, 2-3 mbits upstream over hybrid fiber/coax, using Motorola Fiber surfer modems with a DS3 connection to the Sprint backbone. They are a Tier 1 provider and peer at MAE East/West and the other national point forgot where that is. Cost @$35 Considering I pay $15 for unlimited ISP service + one phone line @$28.50 ($12 of that is taxes x#!*!) = @43.5 per month..of course I can use it for a phone line if/when I am offline.... then it is a bargain!!

..They partner with ATHM a recent IPO...

--not available in my area till 3rd or 4th qtr 98 (:
they said they send a computer person to open up the "hood" and install the hardware and software...
Would like to ask you some questions about networking two machines.. when they roll out service in my area ... I assume you would need a router or can you network two machines with one ISP connection?
