Syngas (OTCBB: SYNI) to Collaborate With Harvest-Tech Bioproducts on Biomass Project; PyStR to Enrich Biomass for a Variety of Higher Value Products Such as Hydrogen, Methanol, and Fertilizers

EDMONTON, AB, Mar 06, 2006 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX) -- Syngas International (OTC BB: SYNI), an emerging leader in the development and production of hydrogen-enriched alternative fuels in an environmentally responsible manner, is pleased to announce that Harvest-Tech Bioproducts has asked Syngas to assist them in putting together a pilot project which would use the PyStR technology to convert low-value farm wastes to high-value products such as Hydrogen, Methanol and fertilizers. Harvest-Tech Bioproducts is an agricultural specialty company focused on finding ways to use and add value to farming wastes.

The agricultural industry produces millions of tons of biomass every year that could be converted into useful energy forms.

Under utilized biomass streams include:
-- Manures and bedding from cattle, swine, sheep, poultry
-- Grain handling residues such as chaff, screenings, distressed grain
-- Harvest residues such as straw and corn stover

For example, in Canada alone, prairie grain crops produce an estimated 35 million tons of straw residue per year. If 85% of that straw is put back into the soil to maintain fertility, approximately 5 million tons would still be available to make hydrogen, biofuels, methanol and fertilizers (ammonia, Urea).

The Syngas Energy Corp. PyStR process can convert the low-cost biomass straw into separate streams of Hydrogen (H2), Carbon Dioxide (CO2) and Nitrogen (N2). Different portions and ratios of the streams from the PyStR process can then be combined and catalytically converted to make high-value Methanol (CH3OH) and ammonia fertilizer (NH3).

"We are incredibly encouraged about the response we've had since we unveiled PyStR at the Big Hydrogen workshop last month. Pioneers in a variety of industries have contacted us about its applications. From the Oil Sands, to Clean Coal technology to Biomass -- this is just another example of adding value through the use of Hydrogen," commented Wilf Ouellette, president of Syngas Energy Corp., a wholly owed subsidiary of SYNI.

Details of the pilot plant will be announced as they are available.
