When I heard the Icelandic contingent speak at the last Geothermal Resources Council conference they said they planned to eliminate oil from the country. I asked how they'd power their ships and fishing trawlers and was told hydrogen.

I wonder if they couldn't use rechargeable VRB-ESS electrical storage units in combination with hydrogen to power ships? Would that produce enough power to get a ship very far?

Is shipping large quantities of hydrogen practical?
