Let me add that if the FED was truly concerned about the dogma they spew, they would stop raising rates for one meeting only and see what happens to the economy during the following months leading up to the next meeting. If they see "weakness" in the 2nd half of 2006, why the hell would they continue to raise now? They could always apply 50 basis points at the next meeting...which I'm sure they won't need to do anyway. Just like in 2000, they will substantially overshoot their mark and cause an enormous amount of unnecessary pain. Totally clueless, imo!
