Bill, large volume liquid hydrogen requires massive energy
expenditure to keep it in a liquid state via refrigeration.
It can't be easily plumbed for long distance transport because
it would turn back to gas unless extemely expensive and energy
intensive insulation and refrigeration were part of the
overall design. I don't see it becoming a viable,
economically feasible product. IMO, they would be better
served to build massive electrical generation plants and
supplying the surplus electricity via armored undersea
shielded transmission lines to Europe. It would be a costly initial
investment but would have a viable market forever at
relatively low sustainability cost, and could probably get
England, Ireland, Scotland and Norway to help fund
development as long term customers. Now I can see that as
a real long term economic development.
