Going into a country as repressed as some of these are, and offering aid is one thing, trying to covertly evangelize while you are offering aid in a country that has the death penalty for conversion from the State Sanctioned religion is at best cruel, but perhaps we could encourage them to leave the converts alone and simply kill the missionaries. In the next couple of years, when democracy is more established, converting may be an option, and on that day, missionaries can do what they want. To offer food with one hand and jesus with the other to starving people living in the wretched conditions that the people of Afghanistan endure is about as low as it gets.
