re: When other countries support violent dictatorships and obstruct our ability to put to a stop countries like Iran getting nukes, I say that the UN is no longer an effective vehicle for driving worldwide piece.

We've supported our share of violent dictatorships, including but certainly not limited to Iraq. Countries work in their own national interest, especially the US. We've spent $300Billion, killed at least 100,000 Iraqi's, 1000's of US kids, 10,000's wounded or mentally destroyed. All to protect our oil supply, our national interest.

Don't give me your holier than thou crap. We are down and dirty worse than the rest of them. As I said:

The UN isn't perfect, but it's there. Would you rather that we didn't talk to the Russians and the Chinese at all? Only to the "like minded"?

Get off your anti-Muslim soapbox... we do as much bad shit as they do, just in a different way. We need to get back on the track that the world was on before Bush/9/11, incremental progress towards peace and world wide prosperity.

Things were getting better then, remember?
