sigh...... on a perfect world. you are totally correct. but i had a great dream going. part of my head is wired in a great way and acts out these scenarios in technicolor for me. you gotta admit. my dream would be visually beautiful. virtually lighter than air ferries of hydrogen come in from about five thousand foot above and hover down to the flagpole at the refueling station and quick connect and recharge the tanks buried below the station with liquid hydrogen. enough to fuel that station for a week. the craft lifts vertically back to five thousand foot powered by wind turbines that are driven by its cargo of liquid hydrogen. no highways to drive and deliver. no pipelines to dig. no wires to lay. automatically inventoried, billed, delivered. there are lots of visions. we just need to pick some and get to work. i especially love the use of geothermal. the thought of mining a volcano for energy. you gotta love that one. so very roddenberry. i know... the damn thing would blow up. just a dream. my god we live in interesting times. can you imagine us in fifty years? the last twenty have been incredible. its like we hit a tipping point and technology exploded. and it has never slowed down. looks like it won't. full time job trying to keep up with everything that is happening. would drive a younger man to drink. drives me another way. fascinating times indeed.
