In 1973, the rightwing rejected liar Nixon en masse, finally realizing after 7 years than the Vietnam War was all wrong, based on total BS and 100% improperly run.

GW Bush is much worse than Nixon. He's more extreme, much more selfish and inept. Nixon was actually a skilled administrator of government. Bush is mostly incompetent and in a hurry to help his buddies rob the bank.

1973 signalled the beginning of the country outlaw period, when longhairs and rednecks partied together for about six years without fighting. American was united. the south was back. And everything was well. Until the right wing struck again. Gas gouging campaign. Dirty tricks in the Middle East. Big Oil did away with Carter.
