I'd place the stress on discredited. Look at communism. Change from within is more effective than change imposed from outside.

But communism was only discredited after 70+ years of conflict, with millions of people dying, and hundreds of millions more suffering under it during that time.

Is this what we're willing to wait for, a new cold/limited war with Islamo-Fascism, until such a time that their religious leaders are no longer able to brain-washed the masses of youthful Muslims looking for a vision of their future?

The entire thought of this, to be frank, frightens me... And it should frighten everyone.

Thus, my view, no matter how controversial, is to immediately recognize it for the threat that Islamo-Fascism holds to freedom and international order, and confront it where ever it seems to be making advances.
