And the Lutherans don't want anybody to join the Masons, Elk's Club, Moose Club or Eagle's Lodge. The Fish Club is mostly Lutheran, drinking and gambling only, no oaths.

At one time, if you had a Masons' thing on your vehicle any cop who was a Mason wouldn't give you a ticket.

Back when my father had a clothing store I was rear ended by a very drunk Mason at a stop light. I wanted to call the police but my father said don't, it will cost us a lot of business. The well off Mason said he'd pay for the damage, he didn't.
