Iraq was coming out of containment in 2003. The euros and russians were playing footsy with saddam. His wmd capability would have started to be rebuilt. But reading richard cohens article, any threat to the US was years away. I cant buy the logic for the war anymore and with 20/20 hindsight, i cant for the life understand how it was fought. I think the "Flowers" crowd dominated and never were quick enough on their feet when the flowers were replaced by ieds. Would 500k troops have worked better??????
