argue things on their merits.

I agree Regli - so what do you think about that woman in Iraq who praised Bush for liberating her - is she to be totally disregarded? Have you lost all objectivity in your rage against an evil dictator as Nietzche warned?

I don't like Bush - I have voted against him, feel he stole the first election from Gore, hate that short sighted people put him into office, and can't believe he has a direct line to baby Jesus and I don't. Can you so easily disregard what this woman says he did for her? He took out the man that murdered her father in cold blood.

Even if you can totally disregard that - I am telling you lots of good ole boys and rednecks and Evangelical tent church types drew a lot of strength from that and would put Bush in for a third term if it were legal for that one issue alone. Mish says we cant afford to be the worlds police force, wether we can afford it or not - I know good ole boys that when they see a canadian general who worked for the UN in africa say we HAVE to send troops over there to keep the babies from dying in civil wars - they will vote to do that and send thier own sons and daughters for the cause. When it is baby dying versus nice house or less taxes or more education or healthcare - babies dying seem to take first priority on thier list.

Shake Hands With the Devil – The Failure of Humanity in Rwanda.

He describes the machete-wielding government-sponsored forces who went on a killing spree in 1994 and murdered 800,000 people in 100 days. It's a damning indictment of world leaders and UN bureaucrats who failed to stop the genocide. Even to write the story was painful.
