The article LB posted upstream points to some of the problems currently for employers. We do need a National ID card, especially for ILLEGALS and new workers coming in from out of this country.

Employers have no way to varify if a drivers license (for picture ID) and a birth certificate are really certified legal documents. Right to work in the US documents are to be attached to every I-9 that am employers is to have in their files for every employee.

NOW, it would be interesting to see exactly how many employers are even doing that...
