I can beat that Paul: In early March and late February I decided to spread my investments over a number of prize Canadian JVs thinking that I reduce my risk. My investments were, of course before the Bre-X debacle and the total investment exceeded your friends in FRX.U Needless to say the whole thing just nose-dived. None of the companies did anything wrong. It's just that Bre-X was like a curse from hell on everything dealing with mining. Want some cheap stock? Try looking at where I bought HGV.V (~$12) in March, now $1.50 or SHF.V was as high as $8.40 and now it's at .53. Oh, it's so disgusting I don't want to even talk anymore about it. My investments in each is not great, but the cumulative effect is devastating.

There are only a few Canadian stocks that still interest me, foremost is Northern Telecom which is a world-class company IMO. The others are UP.V (awesome, one of only two Canadian investments that doubled for me) SIR.VSE & ERB.VSE (either), and MGIS.C which could be the next Adobe (only for consumer video editing apps). Right now, every Canadian JV is just a pipe-dream to me until the phobia about mining dissipates.
