I don't know if you paid any attention to the recent links I posted, but these two graphs are presented "back to front"

i.e. "years before present" mean just that. The oldest data is at the right of the graphs.

These graphs are more clear what the trend and historical background figures are....

Have a careful look at the RHS of the graph and the inset diagram (last 50 yrs). Now look at the historical levels on the Y scale.

380 ppm of carbon dioxide is way out of the normal variation of carbion dioxide levels for the last 600 thousand years.

Just reading the secondposted link again. On the plus side, temperature increases historically have preceded CO2 levels. On the minus side CO2 is "greenhouse gas". There is also nitrogen and gases like methane too, deforestation plus the natural heating cycle the Earth is in at the moment.

I see no reason to be flippant about the Earths temperature change prospects, even in the short term.
