RE: DJE.V
"I could see DJE drop in half and then slowly rally up over a few days or weeks since it is a U play also, thank goodness! "
I'm not selling mine. There is a reason why they've been able to complete the over subscribed financings recently. My take is that the Tinsley news is old news to the insiders and people involved in the financings (i.e., delays). Their rich institutional clients felt Dejour a good bet around 1.60 even with the possibility of Tinsley being a bust (which it isn't technically).
I'm VERY excited about their new JV which Dejour owns 90% of located in the Western sedimentary basin. Can you say OIL SANDS anyone?:
Canada is one of the world’s top five oil and gas producers and is positioning itself to be in the top three with it’s vast northern oil sands development. Covering 580,000 square miles, the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin extends across four western provinces and includes part of the Northwest and Yukon Territories. reconnaissance-energy.com
Why wouldn't a successful oil man like Hodgkinson want a part of what could possibly be the next Saudi Arabia when it's sitting right in front of him? Don't you think he might want to get into the sandbox and play? I bet his rich clients do. This is pure speculation on my part.
What I really like about Dejour is that they have possibly one of the best and most knowledgeable geologists in the Athabasca region (Dr. Lloyd Clark) as director. Among other things here is what he did previous to DJE:
Nine years with Saskatchewan Mining Development Corporation (now Cameco) in Saskatoon as Exploration Manager and Chief Geologist. Dr. Clark established the Exploration Branch, including all exploration methods, administrative procedures and oversaw a staff including up to 65 geologists. His group developed exploration techniques currently employed in Saskatchewan for uranium exploration by numerous companies. During Dr. Clark's tenure at SMDC, his team made the discovery of uranium at McArthur River, which deposit has become the world's largest, most profitable and highest grade uranium mine
This is one of the reasons that I am a loyal fan of DJE and will pay a premium price for the stock if I must. Uranium mining as I understand it is very diffficult. So it's best to place your bets on a man that has done it before and in this case someone who actually oversaw and "developed exploration techniques" in the Athabasca region. Mr. Clark not only has a dream but a theory about the region. Also (as I have mentioned on another thread), between Cameco, Cogema, and Dejour, approximately 40 holes will be drilled this spring near Cameco's major discovery hole in Athabasca . Since these three companies are neighbours, we just need one of these holes to hit.
Lavaca was a success though we still don't know to what degree. Tinsley is not over yet either : "The company continues to evaluate the data to determine the future exploration potential of the prospect." Remember, independent analysts gave Tinsley, after viewing the seismic data an above average, in fact excellent chance of success. I won't really know how optimistic they still feel about Tinsley until I call them. But IMO, I think DJE could still make a case for an investment at these prices.
