I recommend David Brooks' column on immigration in today's NYTimes. (Premium content.) Summary: immigrants, especially Latino immigrants, work hard, take care of their families, practice traditional values, and he argues that there has been a drop in divorce, crime, out of wedlock pregnancy, etc., so that instead of destroying our culture they seem to be helping it. select.nytimes.com
