If you mean by January 2008 - I think you are being a bit over dramatic. We could have a $1200 gold price by then, but $3000 gold price will take several years longer....

The sceanario is a bit romantic - the wicked indebted spendthrifts get punished, the wise gold hoarders emerge triumphant, the unsecured creditors shown to be foolish, etc.
