Novavax Holders Convert $7 Million in Notes Into Common Stock; Shares Rise in Premarket Trading

MALVERN, Pa. (AP) -- Novavax Inc. said Friday that holders of $7 million of the pharmaceuticals company's notes exercised their right to convert them into common stock.
Novavax said the 4.75 percent senior notes were converted into about 1.3 million common shares, at a per share conversion price of $5.46.

As a result, Novavax said it now has $22 million in notes outstanding, and total outstanding shares of 61.3 million.

Shares of the company were among the most actively traded in the premarket session. They were up 18 cents, or 2.2 percent, from Thursday's closing price of $8.18.
