Nothing "of course" about it. Its all speculation. It might be right, I might even be convinced to support the speculation, but its not obvious on its face.

Even if "Some say that if you're Muslim you can't be free." is a strawman it doesn't necessarily follow that it is a blatant lie (we would have to be able to read GW's mind to know that). Even if we assume it is a blatant lie that doesn't say anything about the original arguments put forward about the gulf war. The lie in this case would be about what American critics of the war say, not about the situation in Iraq before the war.
