AM, I know... living without a DVR would really be a pain... and the functions should be moved to other "live" devices. I switched from TiVo to a cable company DVR a couple of weeks ago, to get HD. Man, does it suck.... I mean really bad. We literally have to press 3 buttons on the remote, in the right order, to turn on or off the TV. I'm not kidding. That's after replacing a unit that went out after about 5 days. The interface is terrible... to record something you have to go through hell. My wife wants her TiVo back (but I love the HD). I also have a Microsoft MCE computer (with a 27" monitor). Much better than the cable solution... almost as good as TiVo. Interface is decent, remote is lousy. The lesson? Don't give up your TiVo until the company is in the grave. I can't wait for the HD unit. John
