They only take account the Northern Hemisphere.
Summer has just ended in the southern hemisphere and yet "Vostok station"on the south pole has a temp of -89 below which is normal for the dead of winter (July August)this pattern has shifted the warmer ocean currents towards GreenLand which has been WELL above average during the past 4 winters. In fact there are stations currently reporting temps of 35 degrees. Its the Greenland ice shelf which is breaking apart and causing many icebergs to break off and slowly melt on their trip south. This is causing ocean water levels to rise, and hence erode and kill our beaches and low lying areas. I am still studying this pattern with my focus in the eastern atlantic as the current water temps are 70 degrees or 10 degrees higher then normal for March / April. I am afraid that
the Cape Verde season may start in June (2 months early) as ocean temps rise towards that critical 80 degree reading in a month or two.If the current high pressure which is covering a large part of the atlantic continues then we could see the worst Cat 3 - 5 season on record.
