<Are you watching it because you want to see how strategies pivot around VoIP?

Are there any related companies that I should look for as investments? ;-)

Yes, I want to see how strategies pivot around voip. Plus, it's interesting. Plus, it will help propel CDMA sales by generally lowering the cost of making calls which will make people want to buy more mobile cyberspace gadgets.

Related companies? Yes indeed, there should be a lot of companies selling Skype-related goods and services.

As you say, latency and good links are crucial to Skype and many links are not good. But as people get better and better links, those problems will reduce. I too often prefer to use wired phone calls to avoid the poor quality in Skype calls. But poor quality isn't intrinsic to Skype, it's because Skype is often used in poor quality cyberspace.

Even the best car does badly on a gravel road, one car wide, on a twisty hillside with cliffs either side. But put it on a superhighway and watch it go at 200 kph in safety.

PS: I'm glad you enjoy various rants.
