I have no use for alec baldwin but nor do i have any use for the rt wing talk show brigage. Immigration showed true colors of some. I dont think there was one who supported Bush on this. The Lou Dobbs position reigns with rt wing talk radio. They keep talking about amnesty when the bush plan is an 11 year road to citizenship. These immigrants are no less needy than many of the prior folks who entered to do the menial work. The difference is that the US welfare state now covers all these folks when in olden times these benefits werent available. Impoverished italian, jewish and other immigrants and there was no govt program for them back then so they were forced to help their own. Now there is a welfare program in place and because so many are illegal, it becomes hard for legals to help and not injure their own status. Its the available jobs that lure these folks here. If we are serious about illegal immigration, all we have to do is criminalize the businesses that lure them in. Then we can try to figure out why we have no lettuce in the salad or any maintenance on the golf course or no one to do the cooking, cleaning etc that these folks commonly do. These folks should be careful for what they wish for.
