<6) Don't let adverse facts stand in the way of a good decision.
What the heck does that one mean?>

I think it means that one should not let a current negative situation stop you from making a good (moral) decision. Equivalently, don’t surrender your values under adverse conditions. In that vein…

Does dissent equal disloyalty? How and when? What is the proper form of dissent/disagreement during a conflict that does not immediately equate to “aid and comfort to the enemy.” I see people talking past each other because they can’t or won’t address the real premise of each others position.

Does the venom spewed at “bleeding-heart commie liberals” or “right-wing reactionary bigots” help bridge the gaps in understanding? This is verbal masturbation. <g>

Does anybody here in the U.S. have anything against these possibilities?

A stable and democratic Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, uh… Middle East.
A defeated (or dead) Osama bin Laden, and a crushed Al Qaeda.
A convicted and death-sentenced Sadam Hussein.

To me, the primary issue is how to we, the US, comport ourselves while we attempt to achieve these noble goals. Have we done a the best job we could? Can we adapt to the changes occurring on the ground?

<a dead Sadam may not be noble, but I'll try to live with myself.>
