Just to be clear, the reason "grilled" vs. BBQ matters is that the report said that high temperatures cause the carcinogens to form. Real Texas BBQ, like JohnM likes, real Southern BBQ, real Memphis BBQ, real whatever BBQ, doesn't use high heat, so, does it cause cancer or not?

The article didn't say, but already readers feel regretful about their beloved BBQ. They're confused, for no good reason.

Which is all too typical in scientific debates. The item is always spun as "what you're doing is bad for you."

Like global warming. The debate isn't about "global warming, does it exist or not?" It's "global warming, how destructive is mankind?"
