DiviCom Joins IBM Logicast DiviCom Inc., a unit of C-Cube Microsystems [CUBE] will provide MPEG 2 compression encoders and multiplexers to IBM's [IBM] LogiCast digital broadcast system.
LogiCast uses IBM servers, storage and network products in an effort to tap into the market for digital terrestrial, cable, telco and satellite video services. (DiviCom, 408/490-6688)
Intergraph and Fore Systems Intergraph Computer Systems and Fore Systems demoed an ultra-high speed rendering system, the first in what both compnies say will be a long list of collaborative projects.
The package involved 10 Intergraph StudioZ RenderRAX rendering engines - each with four Pentiums - interconnected into a single system using Fore's ForeRunner ATM switchers and adapters. The system was controlled by Fore's ForeView network managing software.
