DB, I don't see this as just PC. Does the WAPO? Yes.

It's about propaganda. The word insurgent represents a softer description of those who behead teachers. Most right thinking people recognize that this was a murderous act done by terrorists. Yet, WAPO cannot bring themselves to use a strong word to describe those who committed this slaughter. That was my point.

Because the specific words 'freedom fighter' were not in the article, whereas insurgent was, a couple posters chose to get hung up the words instead of the deed.
