DID YOU KNOW It is very bad for Muslims to eat pigs. And when killing things to eat a Muslim must say the name "Allah". Christians are allowed to eat pig and they don't need to say either God or Yahweh when they kill the pig. Canadians eat a popular form of pig called Canadian back bacon which is quite good if you are a Christian or a humanist. Many Indian tribes used to eat a lot of buffalo. They don't any more but they eat a lot of pig. I was reading how the Russians when they retreated from the Germans used to cut hunks of meat off their horses to eat. It was so cold that the blood froze instantly and the horse lived for several days as a work animal and as a food source. Killing the horse would have made the meat impossibly cold to cut and would have necessitated human effort in transporting the meat. It is somewhat disgusting to contemplate and yet Spinoza would have entirely understood... Anyway--millions of people think that eating pig is a sin--but that eating other animals is hunky dory. Go figure...
