HI Phil,

It's been a long time since anyone dusted the cobwebs out of this place. Nearly two years since anyone has posted. I find it rather sad. I am even saddened by the fact that even I have not posted here, as surely my kids have made some fond memories over the past two years. They sure do grow up fast.
Which brings me to why I am here.

Today, my son turned 16 seems like only yesterday I was posting here about my taking cupcakes to school and how he gave up his so the teachers aide in the class would get one. We joked tonight that I had forgotten to take cookies or cupcakes to school for him. He laughed and said, can you imagine having to bring in over 100 cupcakes or cookies. I told him that if he would have wanted that, I would have done it. I said it knowing quite surely that he would not have been interested in such a thing.

Birthdays are so much different, when they happen on a school day, and a child is beyond having a snack brought to school. So much it seems his day came and went without much fanfare. But it was his 16th birthday........
We did go out to dinner, to the Japanese Steak House. That was his choice of where he wanted to go. One of his buddies went with us. We had a nice dinner. We were going to have his cake at the restaurant. Awww but much like his days back in elementary school when he gave up his cupcake for the Aide, tonight he did not want to have his cake until we came home. Because he wanted his sister to be there. She had to work tonight and didn't get to go out with us. It was cute that he and his sister are such good friends that it was important to him, to wait till she could celebrate with us.

He is eagerly waiting to get his driver's license. Wonder what kind of car his Dad will buy him.........

Jane
