Yes, the thernal stability issue is huge. From what I've read, as areal densities approach the 10 Mbit/sq in. mark, the magnetic field becomes unstable, but keepered media provides protection from this thermal decay. Eventually, all drive manufacturer's will need to address this issue, since areal densities increase drastically every year. And they aren't going to wait 'til the last minute to do so. Unless Terastor really does take over the whole mass storage market. And I think the DST product line will take off shortly, especially since they have the software support (Legato) and also work with Windows NT environments.
